This will allow you to have less of a cluttered environment and will also please health and safety as you will not have papers lying around causing fire hazards. You need to make sure that any wires from computers and telephones are kept as hidden as possible; this creates a clear and clean working space for people to work in and also means that you will be reducing the risk of a hazardous workspace.
You need to think about the kind of work that your employees undertake. Think about whether they need to spend most of the day within the office, whether they need to communicate with other colleagues or if they are better off and can get more work done if they have their own office.

A cheap way to overcome this and make the office look cheerful is to add plants; preferably not flowers though as this can cause allergies.
Think about the types of chairs and other office furniture you need to use also so that you can ensure people are at the right levels to avoid back and neck problems. Providing the better seating may not seem like the cheapest option but in the long run you will see that your workers will not need time off due to back pains and even stress.
Another thing you need to think about is maintenance of the office furniture, and the layout. You do not want to have furniture that will collect dust easily and takes a lot of effort to maintain. This can mean that you have problems with the workers needing more time off due to allergies such as asthma and skin problems caused by dust mites. Think about whether you allow food in the office and if so you need to make sure that any upholstery is washable.
There are many benefits to choosing a new office design to improve the safety, hygiene and well being of your staff. This will also mean that you have somewhere that you will be proud to open to the public if this is the case and be able to cater for them no matter their needs.
